Rarely do I get pictures of myself, especially since I've been pregnant. My mom took some shots of us at the beach. These will be going up in the babies room. I just love this one! I'll be home late Friday (12-15-06) for anyone who needs to get in touch with me...It's been so relaxing to be at the beach during one of the busiest times of the year. I hope you have taken some time to slow down and enjoy the season.

This week (Dec. 10-15) I am at Hilton Head Island spending some time with my parents and the twins before the baby comes. It is so sweet to see them playing in the sand. We've been blessed with beautiful weather so the kids have been able to run in the water...Not swim but get really cold feet. They don't mind. Children's excitement about life is so powerful. Watching them play brought a tear to my eye this afternoon. I hope your holiday season has been a blessing also!

I had a trip to visit my brother this weekend and did his family Christmas picture. This is his view from his front porch. Isn't it beautiful!

Location sessions are fun because I get to shoot in different situations and unique props. This session was 4 month old triplets. Hands down...This was the cutest thing!!! One sleeping baby is precious, two sleeping babies is amazing, but three sleeping babies is a miracle! Plus, they were all put into a Moses basket. This family was so fun and I loved working with them. The babies were great. Book your family session today to capture your little ones before they grow too fast.

I had the cutest little boys today. I had to share this shot because it was too precious! Have you ever asked your little one to suck their thumb? But, anything for a picture. I should have taken a picture of mom and me sucking our thumbs...It was too funny. Did we get the thumb sucker shot? Of course! Timeless!

Don't forget to bring your halloween outfits to your October sessions. It is so much fun to get pictures of your little ones in their costumes. I am always available for group sessions upon request. Why am I posting images of little bears? I had to share...My two little ones slipped away and were playing very quietly the other day. I heard them laughing and giggling. So, I checked in on them. I found them in my studio playing photographer. I told them that they didn't have to pretend to play. So, I let them take pictures of their little bears and dolls using my camera. This shot is one of my favorites. They had so much fun and I thought it was just precious. I love these little moments in life! I look forward to working with all of your precious little ones too.

I have been having a blast in my newly decorated studio. The summer is drawing to a close and I'm looking forward to the beautiful fall colors to come. Here's a favorite from today's session with 2 year old triplets. They were fun to work with and Mom did a great job with the location. I couldn't ask for better lighting with an overcast day. They kids were precious being 2. I love capturing multiples...It always keeps me on my toes.

FATHER'S DAY

It is just around the corner. This year, I am offering a coffee table book with two pages of custom text. I really love the setting of Acworth Beach. I had a family session there today and here are two of my favorites. These two little ones were fun. I am amazed that even at age two they have figured out so much. They took a liking to the picnic table and the beautiful kite in the sky, but the real beauty was in the miracle of their lives which began at only 29 weeks.

Black and White VS. Color

I often have a hard time picking which image would look better in black and white or color. I had to post a recent shoot that I've been working on. This image is of a precious 1 year old. I really like the bright colors in the image but I also like the contrast and simplicity of the black and white. The battle rages!

I enjoy the celebration of Easter every year. This year we enjoyed a Easter egg hunt with the cousins. I was able to capture a moment between them. These special moments are why I enjoy photographing little ones. They show their emotions so freely without hesitation...

I have been pondering the idea of a specialty. After much thought, I would have to say that my photographic speciality is fine art, black & white portraits of family events including maternity, birth, family life, weddings, and other events. I really enjoy being a part of families and watching the children grow from birth to marriage. Location photography always makes for an interesting background. Many clients complain that they don't have any places that work for their portraits. Don't worry about that, leave that to me! I am always able to find a perfect spot for that precious portrait. I will even suggest clothing if you have any questions.

About the fine art portrait: I loved this shot because the sun shining through the window makes for and interesting portrait...And the bunny too!

Here's recent shot from a studio session. This little one was a busy toddler . This shot was one of my favorites because it really showed her personality.

Bunnies, Bunnies, everywhere! I was itching to get some shots with bunnies this year. So, in preparation for next year's portrait sessions, I have two loaner bunnies that I used to get some modeling photos. They have been so sweet and the kids love them. Watch next year because I will be offering them. Just too much this year with the move.

These past few weeks have been so fun! I love all the color the spring brings and how excited we all are to be outside. I had to post a few new favorites. I still have a FEW sessions this month available. Call today!

I just love the spring time. New life is in the air! However, we've had a cold front move in for a week or two. Now it seems things are getting warmer. I had to share a cute one from session last week. I just happened to find her 'favorite' doggy while I was there. Although she can't talk in full sentences, she did tell me thank you. It was precious!

Well, I took the trip to Winston again this weekend in search of the perfect house. One that would offer plenty of room for photography and family. I think I may have found it...We'll see how it pans out!

I've also been working on my new site for Winston Salem. Please check it out at http://www.burtdesignsphotography.com. It is still a work in progress but I should have the galleries functioning soon. While building the site, I've come across some favorite shots from past sessions. The above is a precious little girl at 6 months...She cried most of the session but I managed to get the shot in between tears.

I want my clients to continue coming back to my site over and over again. So, the only way I know how to make that happen is to make visiting my site fun. So, I'm beginning a blog which I'll update often with new photos, ideas, specials, and I'm sure some will just be ramblings...

So, here we go....

I am relocating to the Winston Salem area. I am currently accepting new clients for my 2006 year. It should be great fun to capture some unique portraits in the new community.
